MD, MBBS  DFFP MRCOG

Chim has been a consultant obstetrician and gynecologist in the NHS for 6 years and is based at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. She leads the Early Pregnancy Unit and Research unit for women and children division. Her other interest includes intrapartum care and patient safety. She has worked with Patient Safety Movement on various Actionable Patient Safety Solutions and serves as a clinical lead for Surrey Heartlands Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) quality and safety forum.

Chim did her undergraduate medical training in a joint programme with University of Cape Town, Medical School and University of Malawi, College of Medicine. She graduated in 1998. In 2002, she was awarded commonwealth academic staff scholarship with University of Liverpool as a clinical fellow in obstetrics and gynaecology. She did her postgraduate training in the Northwest and obtained her MRCOG in 2012.

She has previously served as Southeast of England  regional representative for the British Intrapartum Care Society. She is currently the Kent Surrey and Sussex regional council member  representative of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist. Her other current roles include RCOG ACC assessor and a member and vice chairperson of National Institute for Heath and Care Excellency(NICE)  obstetric suite guideline committee. She also holds an honorary senior clinical lecturer post with University of Southampton.

Outside her professional work, Chim is very passionate about promoting women’s health and educating ethnic minority communities on health issues. She is the founder of a small charity, Every Mother and Child Matters Foundation that focuses on supporting womens health services across Sub-Saharan region in underprivileged communities to help reduce avoidable maternal and neonatal deaths. She is also part of the Adam Global family supporting  Health Initiatives in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Chim is a founding member and the president of the Christian Healthcare Professionals Network UK (CHPNet-UK). CHPNet UK aims to connect and  equip healthcare professionals  to deliver healthcare not only with professional excellence but with love and compassion to all humanities
