Leticia has been working as an Urgent Care Dual Diagnosis Coordinator for the Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust (BHFT) since February 2022 and is also a Practice Development Nurse for BHFT Psychological Medicines since 2021. She is also a Substance Misuse Lead for East Berkshire Psychological Medicine since 2017.
Leticia was born in Zimbabwe and went to Chiundu Secondary School in Rusape, Zimbabwe where she completed her GCSE. She qualified as a Mental Health Nurse at Thames Valley University in United Kingdom in 2009. She received her master’s degree in science, Mental Health and Substance Use (Dual Diagnosis) in 2022 from Middlesex University in UK. She has also contributed to some book chapters in the field of her expertise currently under review for publication.
Having gone through difficult primary school education and seeing how young children had to travel so many miles to go to school, Leticia organised and build a nursery school in her village in Zimbabwe while in diaspora which she handed over to the local authority to manage.
She continues to support her vision of training a “girl child” in her village. She recently won an award during her master’s course and will use the award to set up The Leticia Award in the primary school to be given to students who are outstanding to encourage them to aspire and do better in their academics. She has a husband ,daughters and grandkids. A true demonstration of giving back to the communities and effecting change at grassroot.
She loves socialising.
