Monica has over 2 decades experience in Social Care where she has been in varied roles ranging from front line Social Worker, a Senior Social Worker, Social Services Manager and and Quality Assurance Lead. She studied at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Ghana) and the London South Bank University where she gained a BA (Hons) Social Sciences and PG/Dip Social Work respectively.

Monica is the biological mother of 3 and has been sponsoring a young man from Ecuador since 2014 through Compassion UK. She describes herself as a philanthropist and an advocate for the vulnerable in society.

In the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Monica and 3 other mothers of children on the autism spectrum co-founded JADZ SEND Connect – a support group for Black and Minority Ethnic group of parents and carers of persons with Autism and Special Education Needs (UK) within the London borough of Bexley and its environs.

Monica is the founder and CEO of DePAV Autism foundation, a non-governmental organisation that supports the autism and special needs community in Ghana, West Africa; as well as the founder / CEO of CARE PLANGE LIMITED, a care and support service in the UK. Recently, Monica founded Psalm 23 Housing, a Christian CIC that aims to support the homeless with the love of Christ. This is still in its planning stages.

Monica also sits on the Board of Trustees for the Quest School, an Independent Autism School in Kent as well on the Board of Trustees for Jesse’s Place Foundation.

Her passion to help and improve the life of children with learning disability is demonstrated through her work with the Dwayne Plange Autism Vision (DePAV). The foundation was birthed from her personal story and journey with her son, Dwayne who has autism. Through this foundation, Monica She has done so much to support children with autism in Ghana.

She is also a strong advocate who empowers women to reach their potentials in life and mentors many women. Through this coaching and encouragement, some of these women are in good Social Care careers.

Monica is a Christian, a Deaconess and the current National Women’s Leader of The Church of Pentecost UK. The Church of Pentecost is global church with over 3 million members worldwide and over 20,000 members in the UK

Monica enjoys watching comedy shows, dancing, writing & interior decorating. Her life story shows resilience and how through self-leadership one can become a social change agent through the power of purpose.
